Editorial Standards
Our reporting should be accurate, local and useful. We identify sources, distinguish a proposal from a final decision and make uncertainty clear.
Reporting and Review
We check facts against reliable sources and credit the authors of submitted articles. We do not invent interviews, quotations, eyewitness reporting or personal experiences. Every article requires editorial review before publication.
Crime and Public Safety
An arrest or charge is an allegation, not a conviction. We distinguish agency statements from established facts, weigh the public interest before identifying people and avoid unnecessary harm to victims and minors. Official alerts and records require editorial review before becoming news reports. We follow significant cases for dismissals, acquittals, convictions and other dispositions, and update our coverage when verified information changes the account.
Church Directory
The directory lists local congregations affirming historic Trinitarian Christianity. Listing recognizes a shared foundation without endorsing every teaching or practice. Read Our Directory Standard for its scope and correction process.
Photographs
We credit photographs and establish permission or another documented basis for their use. Image credits identify the source.
Corrections
If something is wrong, please send a correction with the article link and the correction. Material corrections should be identified on the affected story.
