Shelby County Community Theatre will hold auditions for Amadeus November 22 and 23 at 7 p.m. at the theatre, 801 Main Street in Shelbyville.
Clint Gill is directing Peter Shaffer's play, which is scheduled to open January 29, 2027. The audition notice calls for prepared material and cold readings from the script.
The theatre says a preliminary rehearsal schedule will be available and asks actors to bring a calendar so they can identify conflicts. That's worth sorting out before accepting a role: the commitment extends beyond the audition evenings to rehearsals and performances.
Anyone unable to attend the scheduled sessions may be considered for a private accommodation, according to the notice. Contact the theatre office at 502-633-0222 or officeadmin@shelbytheatre.org to ask about arrangements and confirm what to prepare.
Check the current casting notice before making a trip in case the theatre changes the plan.
