Shelby County Public Library's bookmobile is scheduled to visit Waddy Baptist Church on Monday, November 2, from 11 a.m. to noon, bringing borrowing and library information closer to residents outside Shelbyville.

The stop offers more than a chance to pick up a book. The library says visitors can browse large-print, regular-print, young-adult and children's titles, sign up for a library card, learn about digital resources and find out about upcoming programs.

Waddy is one of several community stops listed by the library. Its bookmobile page also identifies stops in Bagdad, Cropper and Simpsonville. The Waddy event page lists additional visits November 16 and November 30, both from 11 a.m. to noon.

The broader outreach service also serves residents who are homebound because of a permanent or temporary disability, assisted-living and nursing facilities, and state-certified daycares, according to the library. Those services have their own arrangements; a community stop should not be assumed to provide every outreach service automatically.

If you're interested in becoming a bookmobile patron, the library provides an application through its bookmobile webpage. For the current route, borrowing arrangements or a schedule change, contact Outreach Services at 502-633-3803. Weather and other circumstances can change a planned stop.
