Shelby County families joining 4-H for the 2026–27 program year must enroll online, including families whose children participated last year, according to the county Extension office's September–October newsletter.

The program year began Sept. 1. The notice says Kentucky 4-H has replaced paper enrollment forms with the 4-H Online system and welcomes new members. Youth who will be nine by Jan. 1, 2027, can participate in this program year.

Families can begin at 4honline.com. For enrollment help, the office directs them to 4-H agent Candice Hollingsworth at candice.hollingsworth@uky.edu or 502-633-4593.

The newsletter also says eligible youth participating outside their home county need to renew their cross-county participation paperwork annually; the Extension office provides the guidelines and form.

Shelby County Extension is at 1117 Frankfort Road in Shelbyville. Its current county directory lists office hours of 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
