Shelby County Fiscal Court authorized a state road-resurfacing agreement September 15 for fiscal 2026-27, following its June approval of bids for several county routes.
The September action approved a Rural Secondary Program resolution and authorized the judge/executive to enter the resurfacing agreement with Kentucky's Transportation Cabinet. It did not identify completed roads.
June 16 bids included H.G. Mays at $72.95 a ton for Burks Branch Road from Freedoms Way to Fox Run Road and $71.95 a ton for Pea Ridge Road from KY 395 to Ritter Lane. Per-ton prices aren't total project costs; those also depend on the amount of material and the contracted work.
At the June meeting, Fiscal Court also approved the 2026-27 school-resource-officer memorandum with Shelby County Public Schools, with magistrate Swindler abstaining, and an agreement with the Deceased Farm Animal Removal Program.
The minutes don't provide the school-officer cost split or the animal-removal service's fees and eligibility. Those terms, along with road completion records, remain necessary for detailed guides to the services.
